Faridabad Hindustan ab tak/Dinesh Bhardwaj : 26 January The J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad celebrated 71st Republic Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety. The Vice Chancellor of University, Prof. Dinesh Kumar hoisted the Tri-colour in the University premises.
Vice Chancellor also took the salute at impressive march-past presented by the Security Officials, NCC Cadets and NSS volunteers of the University and addressed the gathering. To keep alive the flame of patriotism, a bouquet of cultural program was presented by students in the form of songs, poems and dance. The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by singing of the National Anthem.
In his Republic Day address, Prof. Dinesh Kumar highlighted the importance of the day and recalled the contributions of the national leaders in the early post-independence contributions like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. B. R. Ambedhkar, who worked extensively in framing the Constitution of India. He said that each one of us needs to participate for attainment of the goals laid down by the constitution. He urged the students to follow the path kindled by the great leaders of the nation.
Congratulating the staff and students on the occasion of Republic Day, Vice-Chancellor highlighted the recent achievements of the University, and made a fervent appeal to contribute towards the progress of the University. He also urged the students to live to the principles of unity, equality and fraternity. He also apprised the gathering about various infrastructural developmental plans executed in the University campus and shared future plans to make the University an institute of excellence of higher education.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor also released the special edition of Journalism and Mass Communication’s departmental newsletter ‘Sanchaar’ compiled and edited by media students.
The ceremony was well attended by all Deans, HoDs, officers of the University, faculty members, supporting staff and students. Registrar Dr. S. K. Garg and Dean, Students Welfare Prof. Naresh Chauhan were also present on the occasion.
The programme was organized by the office Dean Students Welfare and coordinated by Director, Youth Welfare Dr. Pradeep Kumar and Deputy Dean Student Welfare Dr. Sonia Bansal. The function culminated with distribution of sweets among all the students and staff members.
