AN INITIATIVE OF DAVIM FARIDABAD TO MAKE SELF RELIANT INDIA – ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT
Faridabad Hindustan ab tak/Dinesh Bhardwaj : “It will change the way we live-things will never be same –we have to learn to live with it-it will change us as a species”-These are some reactions to COVID-19 pandemic .The world has changed dramatically. This Pandemic has created gigantic impact on global education. But on a positive note, this pandemic acted as a catalyst, pushing many educational institutions to devise innovative solution within a relatively short time. With this mindset DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad has organized a 3 days National Webtalk series “MANTHAN-Churning of Ideas on Industry-Academia Interface- A step towards Atmanibhar Bharat” which discussed the impact of COVID-19 on industries & academics and related impact on Present and future placement scenario of job-seekers.
On this concluding day i.e. day 3, as a ritual of DAV, session began with chanting of Gayatri mantra and formally commenced with initial deliberations by Ms Kanika Duggal. It was followed by welcome address by Dr. Sanjeev Sharma (Principal Director DAVIM) .On behalf of DAVIM , he welcomed all eminent resource persons , panelists of the day and also expressed gratitude towards Padam Shree Dr. Punam Suri (President ,DAVCMC New Delhi) and Sh. Shiv Raman Gaur (Director Higher Education, DAVCMC New Delhi). He also acknowledged the efforts of notable organizers for this event Dr. Ritu Arora Gandhi( Registrar &Vice Principal), Dr. Anamika Bhargav (IQAC coordinator), Dr. Sarita Kaushik (NAAC Coordinator),Dr. Meera Wadhwa (Dean Student Support), Dr. Pooja Kaul (Dean Innovation cell), Dr. Gurjeet Kaur (Dean Outreach Program), Mr Harish Verma (TDCC) , Ms. Ruchi Dhunna (TDCC) and Mr. Sachin Narula (NSS Coordinator).
Dr. Sanjeev Sharma highlighted that DAV Institute of Management is standing as a pioneer institution in holding such a grand Industry Academia Interface Discussion during today’s challenging times. This idea would help the education institutions to bridge the gap between the industry and academia. He also emphasized the fact that it is necessary to learn from all learned resource persons to design the curriculum judicially which would efficiently satisfy all the industry needs not only today but also in the future. He also expressed his concern towards the recruitments in rural India which is a big market for many of the products and dragged the attention of all industry officials for the development.
Technical session-1 began with knowledgeable panelist Mr. Nandan Pandit, Founder of Vixita People Solutions, who focussed on state of job market in post pandemic era. He also mentioned two fundamental changes in today’s scenario- nature of work and the movement from trinity to unity. Mr. Gyanendra Kumar Pandey, Assistant VP, /Head HR, CBO Sales and Solutions at Tata Consultancy Services rightly said that the disruptions are the part of life and we have to learn how to diversify and upgrade ourselves as the nature of jobs is going to change. He also focused on E-shape learning and resilience to handle the present situation. Mr. P. Sunil Kumar, currently working as SCM –Logistics and Operating in- charge for Finished Goods, Logistics and Distributions of India’s largest Aluminium Producer – Vedanta Ltd shared his views on key transformation like Industry 4.0 and Supply chain 4.0 stating that we are moving towards the smart factory which are cyber physical using latest technologies like IOT,AI,block chain and many more.
Technical session -2 began by inviting dynamic panelist Ms. Meghanshi Gupta working as an Assistant Manager – HR in Global Growth, Faridabad. She shared her views on various challenges and opportunities in front of industries in this pandemic Scenario. Ms. Gunjan Saini, working in Group Learning and Global Facilitator Management, Capgemini, focused on some most demanding area like data analytics, Cloud computing, cyber security and digital marketing. Mr. KawalJeet Jawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. focused on the opportunities available for students and also guided them how to imbibe the skills to adapt, survive and sustain in this new normal. Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Professor, SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana and President Punjab Commerce and Management Association, Ludhiana, Punjab shed the light on the concept of B2B means back to basics and shared his vision to make synergetic rethinking for developing new ecosystem.
The session was concluded by Dr. Ritu Arora by reading the Valedictory Address of DHE, DAV College managing Committee Sh. Shiv Raman Gaur. The query handling session was managed by Dr. Ashima Tandon and Ms. Priyanka Gaur and media coverage was done by Dr. Hema Gulati, Ms. Pooja Sachdev and CA Alka Narula while technical support was provided by Mr. Harish Rawat and Mr. Gaurav. The session was concluded by Ms. Kanika Duggal with formal vote of thanks.
