Union HRD Minister bestows Manav Rachna students with Chhatra Vishwakarma Award (third prize)

Faridabad Hindustan ab tak/Dinesh Bhardwaj : 28 February Manav Rachna’s start up “Halestein Food labs LLP” under the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) has been awarded third prize and a cash award of ₹ 21,000 at the Chhatra Vishwakarma Awards 2019 conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), in the category of value addition of rural handicraft and agro-industry. The award was bestowed by the Hon’ble Union Minister for HRD, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India Dr.Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

2,372 teams from various institutes, pan India, had submitted their solutions for the convention. After following three stages of evaluation, 117 teams were selected to exhibit their prototype at the National Convention and Exhibition held at AICTE. For the 2019 edition of the awards, the Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) and Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog had also collaborated with the AICTE. Our team comprising Anshu Jha and Pranav Jha under the mentorship of Dr. Mahak Sharma, Associate Professor, FAHS were appreciated for their efforts by AICTE and Niti Aayog.

Their startup Halestein FoodLabs LLP makes nutritious food and beverage products from agricultural produce and agricultural waste. The products are designed keeping in mind the Indian taste preferences. The team has also developed value added products from Parali (the waste of paddy).
